Terribly and in Private - Reading

Bryan Flynn left home after he finished high school, and never looked back. He moved to New York to pursue a life in Art. There, he met and fell in love with Jimmy, a photographer.

A couple of days before the play begins, Bryan is struck by a car and killed. Bryan's sister, Gaby, doesn’t understand why Jimmy and her eccentric brother, Brandon, don’t want to go to the funeral. She sets a manipulative plan into action that will get them both there.

With Jimmy in town, Gaby's mother worries that the Catholic Church will discover who he is and turn the family away- casket and all. Gaby fights for Jimmy’s right to be there.

As her control issues peak, Gaby’s plans become symbolic of saving herself from her own empty life.
